Dawid Czycz in front of his painting"The United States of Happiness" 17.04.2020

We have entered the 2020s. What will they be like? Certainly hectic, like our world. Things are going to get even faster and louder. There will be more of everything, packed ever more densely. We will fly at the speed of LED light and send billions of emojis to each other to convey billions of fleeting emotions. We will sooner make an endless streaming show out of our pictures and videos than type in a single sentence, because we prefer visual culture, and written messages have become less necessary. Well, we may occasionally drop a worldwide slang expression, but just for laughs. Humour is the best cure for the sense of absurdity. Though, in fact, we adore our world of globalized pop culture and keep liking its colourful promises of happiness. But we will be increasingly short on time because we will spend our real time responding to virtual stimuli. On top of that, the Earth’s population will increase by another billion in the next ten years, so things are probably going to get even more scary in real life. But LED screens will render everything unreal and our hectic world will look beautiful. Crazy beautiful.

The world has changed? Apart from shopping malls with their excess of goods and ample opportunities for low-cost tourism, global capitalism has provided us primarily with effective tools for virtual communication, which we can consume without any limitations. So we consume away! We drift in the virtual ocean of sensations, emojis and breaking news, longing ever more strongly for a sense of harmony in life. Digital culture has superseded its analogue counterpart, and reflection has mutated into intuition. Still, we look enthusiastically at the burning reality through the eyes aglow with LED light. We have created brave new worlds. Our own simultaneous worlds.
After all, we are living in the era of the LED Baroque. Welcome to Golden Years! And Keep Smiling馃懝馃懝馃懝

Feels like slow motion, we're floating at the speed
Louder
Higher, higher, higher, higher, higher
It's like standing in the ocean
